Sheikh Samir Mustafa

Sheikh Samir Mustafa is the Egyptian Islamic preacher Abu Abd al-Rahman Samir ibn Mustafa al-Suyuti. He was born in Asyut Governorate in 1976 and grew up and spent most of his life in the city of Helwan in Cairo Governorate. Upbringing and Pursuit of Knowledge Religious study: He devoted himself to the pursuit of religious knowledge from his youth and studied at the hands of a number of leading sheikhs and scholars in Egypt. His most prominent teachers: He studied under Sheikh Hasan Abu al-Ashbal al-Zuhayri, Sheikh Abu Ishaq al-Huwayni, and Sheikh Muhammad Abd al-Maqsud, and he was a close and constant companion of Sheikh Muhammad Hussein Yaqoub. Preaching and Scholarly Activity Sermons and lectures: He became known for a stirring oratorical style that spoke directly to young people, and he delivered hundreds of sermons and lessons in the mosques of Cairo and Giza and in several other Egyptian governorates. Scholarly interests: In his preaching he concentrated on building sound creed, on teaching the life of the Prophet and Islamic history, and on the cultivation of the soul. Major series and writings: He produced many well-known recorded series and lessons, foremost among them the series "The Great Battles of Islam," "Commentary on the Short Suras," and "Stories of the Prophets," in addition to overseeing a number of works and booklets on Islamic outreach. Imprisonment Detention: His public preaching activity came to a halt after he was arrested in 2017 while setting out to travel to perform the rites of Umrah, and he has remained in prison ever since.
